Resizing and Exporting Photos for Showing and for Competition

Most photographers use Adobe programs - either Lightroom and/or Photoshop for post-processing and editing of their photos.  The submission of the proper size of photos for showing and/or competition is challenging for beginning photographers and often is based on the type or version of the program used.  

Adobe Lightroom is available in more than one form - primarily Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Creative Cloud (CC).  For further confusion, at times, Lightroom Classic also is described as Lightroom Classic CC.  
New versions and changes by Adobe are inevitable.  However, this link is helpful for describing the current differences:
